Communication Discovery Teleforum -
Dealing with Difficult People in the Workplace

Have you ever been plowed over by a Tank at work?
Do Whiners just drive you nuts?
Does a Know-it-All push your buttons?

Effective communication is the key to achieving powerful results in the most demanding situations. This 3-part series gives you concrete strategies for dealing effectively with these three types of difficult people.

Your behavior style influences how you communicate and interact with others. It has an impact on your first impressions and long-term relationships. By understanding your own behavior style and the styles of others, you can improve relationships, communicate more effectively, and achieve more powerful results.

Each style has unique characteristics and different views on competency, level of detail, human connection, problem-solving, risk, work environment, confrontation and more. When we measure others by our own "style yardstick", we often set both sides up to fail.

Transitions For Life offers this 3-part teleforum series to educate and shift perspectives. Participants are encouraged to provide examples of their own challenges with Tanks, Whiners and Know-it-All's.

Participants learn tools for assessing these behavior styles and gain a working knowledge of them to take into the real world. Participants gain confidence in their ability to create more cooperative and productive relationships, and avoid costly misunderstandings and unnecessary conflict.

What topics are covered in the teleforum?

Each week we will cover one of these challenging styles in depth. Participants are encouraged to bring their specific situations to the call, where the entire group benefits from the coaching.

  • Learn how to recognize each type and what drives them to behave this way.
  • Find out which approaches don’t work and which can make the problem worse!
  • Discover specific step-by-step strategies that convert these difficult people into powerful partners (or at least less irritating ones!).

Who should attend?

  • Leaders who want to create a cohesive team from diverse individuals.
  • High performance teams who want to deal effectively with even the most difficult customers.
  • Professionals who want to improve their communication skills and business relationships.

Groups can be from 5 to 12 participants for the same low, inclusive price.  These discovery learning sessions are conducted via group conference call by a highly experienced executive coach and communication specialist.

Join us as we explore the challenge of dealing with difficult people!
